TriciaG's youngest brother-in-law here. I stumbled on your blog while working on her new website. Haven't talked to you in awhile. Thought I'd stop in and say howdy!
I felt closest to the eternal one night while driving home from Edmonton. I took a shortcut down the "Going to the Sun Pass" through Glacier National Park in NW Montana.
There is a certain spot just as you cross the Continental Divide where the mountain ends in a sheer cliff on one side of the road and the land opens up before you in an amazing panoramic view of God's nature. It was a clear night that night. The stars were bright and the moon lit up the land like a cosmic beacon. There, at the top of the world, it seemed like I could reach out and touch the heavens...
Love your blog. I feel especially close to the eternal on a crisp autumn morning, when the trees with their changing leaves seem to just glow. Each year when fall rolls around, I'm reminded of my student teaching days, when I also worked a full time job at the college. I was having trouble balancing the two - the immediate and the future. I slumped down on the bus seat one morning and looked out the window at the painted scene. It was as if God was saying, "I control the seasons; I can handle this one too."
